[ What follows is a summary of the March meetings for the record, for one reason or another your scribe seemed to be incapacitated or other wise engaged for two successive Wednesdays and the man of many parts Bill stepped up to the plate as usual. ]

Report on March 14th Dance….. A little over 90 tickets sold (Needs to be improved next year) About 85 people in Attendance..Great time had by all..Good Food, Great Irish Step dancing exhibition, Nice vocals by Jack Burns and Ken Toomey, Fun Bead Game.. good social time by all…

MANYMANY THANKS to Betsy, Lynn, Caroline, Maryellen, and the committees who wrapped presents and set-up the Hall, sold tickets and raffle tickets at the door..

The net results for the Dance to date is $3600 !!! A great fund raiser which can only be improved upon next year with more involvement by every club member. With more tickets sold by club members we could probably raise in excess of $5000. We need the involvement of every club member to make these fund raising events both FUN and Profitable for the Club..

Jessica attended the PETS (President Elect Training Session) in Nashua NH this past weekend. 461 Presidents elect were in attendance from Thurs to Saturday. Lots of good networking and exchange of ideas. Good preparation of the Presidents elect…District Designated funds for 2008-2009 will be a total of $16,000. Our club hopes to apply for a grant in 2008-2009. more details to follow…

Dave G. gave us an update of the Youth Exchange program in our district. Youths age 15 to 19 will come into our district or leave our district for a year of study in High School. They live with 2 or 3 host families during their stay. Each Rotary club needs a Club Youth Exchange officer and a host counselor to meet with the student once a month. The Local host Rotary club helps the student with a $100 monthly stipend (Total $1300). This is the largest scholarship program of its type in the world.

The Rotary Theme for 2008-2009 is MAKE DREAMS REAL

That's All Folks!
