Pre-Pets February 2, 2008

by Jessica von Goeler

In four hours, president-elects for the 47 clubs in the District had a glimpse of being a club President.

  • We learned to drink warm water while running a meeting.
  • We were given a ton of manuals and found out there was just about one for everything in Rotary.
  • We saw live demonstrations of good and bad Rotary meetings.
  • We got excited for upcoming Rotary events, such as the World Peace and Understanding Dinner.
  • We found out about our remarkable 2008-09 Group Study Exchange partnership.
  • We spent time with our District Leadership Team and fellow Club Presidents.
  • We had ideas.

The best part of pre-PETS, I saw so much to be proud of in the Rotary Club of Arlington

  • Our membership is strong.
  • We are active on the district level supporting RYLA, GSE, Ambassadorial Scholars, Youth Exchange, Rotaplast, and more.
  • Our meetings are productive.
  • We have great community events including the upcoming Pot O' Gold fund-raiser.
  • Our website is up to date
  • We have a great partnership with Arlington's Interact Club
  • Our work helps people all over the world

2008-09 is going to be a great year! There is so much we can do. I can't wait for PETS!
